patna. All India Kisan Sangharsh Samanvay Samiti has been organising Kisan Mukti Yatra in different parts of the country for past many days. The aim of this Yatra is to amplify the legitimate demands of farmers, and those associated with farming as their primary profession. Swaraj Abhiyan through it’s farmers wing Jai Kisan Andolan, along with 184 different small and large farmers associations and groups in this country, is participating in this effort to make farmers aware of their rights under various Acts of the Parliament and Schemes of Central and State Govts. We feel that different farmer groups, who are working in isolation, unless they unite and speak in a unified voice, our governments will keep on ignoring the needs of our farmers.
Kisan Mukti Yatra started from Kolkata and reached Bhubaneshwar on 29th October. Thousands on farmers welcomed the Yatra and a big Jansabha was organised.  Prof Yogendra Yadav( President Swaraj India and founding member of Jai Kisan Andolan), Prof Avik Saha(Convenor Jai Kisan Andolan),  Dr. Sunilam ( President Kisan Sangharsh Samiti Madhya Pradesh and ex MLA) , Shri Lingaraj and Shri Ashok Pradhan (Odisha Krishak Sangathan Samanvay Samiti) addressed the huge gathering. Prof Avik Saha reminded the State Govt that according to the directions of the Supreme Court in the Drought PIL, not only the timely declaration of drought is necessary, it is also necessary that drought affected population gets proper ration under different PDS schemes and MNREGA wages are properly managed and distributed without delay.
On 31st October, Kisan Mukti Yatra reached Ranchi from Bhubaneshwar. Different farmer leaders resolved to oppose the open loot of the mineral rich land by the corporates, which is being openly facilitated by the State Govt. On Nov 1 the Kisan Mukti Yatra reached Ramgarh from Ranchi. Ex MP Hannan Mollah said that BJP has failed to deliver the promises made to farmers in it’s Central and State manifestos. Farmers across the country will have to unite to save their  profession and demand BJP Govts to fulfil its promise of increasing the income of farmers. Different farmer leaders of small and large farmer groups resolved to take part in the Kisan Mukti Sansad to be held in Delhi along with the winter session of the Parliament.
From Ranchi, the Kisan Mukti Yatra moved on to Kodarma and then to Bihar Sharif and Jehanabad and thereafter to Daood Nagar. A call for Kisan Mukti Sansad to be held was made. Demands of the Kisan Mukti Sansad would be two fold. First, a call for Karz Mukti will be made instead of Karz Maafi. Second , farmers will demand BJP Govt at the centre to fulfil its manifesto promise to increase the MSP for different crops by 50%. A model bill will be prepared by consensus and passed in the Kisan Mukti Sansad, and will be presented to the Parliament for consideration. Kisan Mukti Sanand will be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
Today the yatra reached Daniyawan, Begusaray, Patna, and Bihata where the leaders of AIKSCC also paid tributes to Swami Sahjanand Saraswati in Bihata, the founder President of Akhil Bharti Kisan Sabha. Addressing the public gathering at Patna, Swaraj India President , Yogendra Yadav said that it’s for the first time in the history of farmers’ struggle in this country that ‘red’ and ‘green’ flags have come together to lead a united fight for a common cause. While demanding that farming be given industrial status, he also demanded that share croppers should be given due recognition.
Dr. Sunilam while addressing the gathering said, “The CM of Bihar and the PM of this country are on the same side now, so this must benefit the fares of Bihar. The government must procure the 70 lakh quintal of paddy that Bihar has produced this year and also ensure that the farmers of the state are made debt free. Convenor Jai Kisan Andolan, Avik Saha said that the farmers of this country are under distress and that this government is bringing policies that are only aimed at increasing that distress.
