New Delhi, 26, February, 2019. Rajasthan Tourism Minister, Shri Vishwendra Singh received award in the category BEST HERITAGE DESTINATION for Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, Jodhpur, Rajasthan on Monday evening at The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi on 25th February 2019.
Union Minister of State (independent Charge) for Tourism, Sh. K. J. Alphons presented the awards at the ceremony. Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development, Ganga Rejuvenation and Parliamentary Resources, Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Tourism Minsters from Uttar Pradesh and Orissa attended the event.
On the occasion Sh. K. J Alphons applauded the unparalleled Heritage of Rajasthan and acknowldeged the popularity of Rajasthan which has been attracting tourists from within and outside India. While Sh. Alphons credited Rajasthan of introducing Heritage Rail Tourism, he accorded special praise for the State’s luxury train “Palace on Wheels”, which generated a lot of enthusiasm particularly among international tourists.
Sh. Vishwendra Singh, Tourism Minister, Govt of Rajasthan, acknowledged the unique Heritage in the State and said that Rajasthan has huge tourism potential waiting to be tapped which can be taken forward with the support of the Central Government for development of various lesser known Tourism Circuits in Rajasthan.
Additional Director, Tourism, Govt of Rajasthan Dr. Gunjeet Kaur, Joint Director, Shri Rajesh Sharma and Assistant Director, Ms. Sumita Meena and other senior officers attended the event from Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan.
