Students conducting Research on Biodiversity will get scholarship, Online application will start soon on the website of DST
Jaipur, January 16. Principal Chief Wildlife Conservator and Rajasthan State Biodiversity Board chairman Shri G.V.K. Reddy on Thursday said that scholarship of Rs 15,000 will be provided to MA and M.Sc students of Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Environment etc) conducting research in biodiversity. This scholarship will be given jointly by Rajasthan State Biodiversity Board and Department of Science and Technology (DST).
DST secretary Smt Mugdha Sinha said biodiversity in the world is changing and it is important to conduct research to conserve biodiversity in the State.
She said Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sachin Pilot and Forest and Environment Minister Shri Sukhram Vishnoi have approved to give scholarship for conducting research in biodiversity, so that eligible students of the State get a proper platform.
Smt Sinha said that DST will soon invite online applications from the students on the department website. She said the time to conduct research on biodiversity will be six months. After the students apply online, the biodiversity board and DST will select the eligible candidate. The students will have to conduct the research work as per the UGC guidelines, she added.
